Queen release "forgotten" track recorded with Freddie Mercury

Face It Alone, recorded in 1988, is available to stream now.
A lost Queen song featuring Freddie Mercury has been released today (13th October).
Face It Alone was originally recorded at sessions in 1988 for the album The Miracle, released in May the following year. It was rediscovered when the band returned to the archive to work on a special box set reissue of the LP.

“We’d kind of forgotten about this track,” said Roger Taylor, “but there it was, this little gem. It’s wonderful, a real discovery. It’s a very passionate piece”.
Speaking of the track, Brian May said: “I’m happy that our team were able to find this track. After all these years, it’s great to hear all four of us … yes, Deacy is there too … working in the studio on a great song idea which never quite got completed ... until now!”
The band - Taylor, Mercury, May and John Deacon - recorded around 30 tracks for what would become their thirteenth studio album, many of which have never been released.
The existence of Face It Alone was first revealed by May and Taylor in a BBC radio interview at at this year’s Royal Jubilee concert. At the time, May said: “It's beautiful, it’s touching.”
The release of the track is a preview for an 8-disc box set The Miracle Collector’s Edition, which arrives on 18th November.
The expanded set includes The Miracle Sessions: an hour-plus disc of further previously unreleased recordings, including six unpublished songs. The reissue includes a number of revealing spoken exchanges on the studio floor in London and Montreux, giving a window yet into Queen's creative process.
