Three people have died after a crash between a car and a bus near Heathrow Airport late last night - with both vehicles catching fire.

Three occupants of the car - reportedly a silver Mercedes - were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth was taken to hospital following the collision on Bedfont Road in Feltham at 11.55pm.

Two of the bus passengers were also transported to A&E;, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Others were treated at the roadside.

The single-decker bus was an H26 service bound for Hatton Cross tube station, on the airport's perimeter.

London's Air Ambulance was dispatched, along with crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and members of a hazardous area response team.

The Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade also attended.

The flames were extinguished by 1.41am on Tuesday.
