Dave Myers of the Hairy Bikers on his cancer treatment

Dave gives Chris an update on how his chemotherapy is going.

Chris Moyles was joined by old friends The Hairy Bikers this morning (11th October), and Dave Myers gave us all an update on his chemotherapy treatment.

Dave - who forms one half of the duo with his friend Si King - announced in May of this year that he had received a cancer diagnosis and that the rest of 2022 would see him put work to one side in order to have treatment.

"I'm doing alright, just starting to get out and about a bit," Dave told Chris. "It's been a rough old year, but there are many people going through the same thing I'm not unique.

"I'm in the middle of it, but I seem to be getting better - me whiskers are back, my hair's coming back and my energy's coming back, so all on the right path. And at the minute I can eat what I want, so that's great!"

When Chris claimed that Dave was looking great as his hair started to grow back, the TV presenter and cook laughed: "My wife said, eeh, love - you look like they pulled you out the mould before you're finished!"

He went on: "It is weird, you don't look like yourself and you don't feel like yourself. It's a weird cure. But if you get good people to manage it and manage your head with it, it's possible. It's tough but it's a path many people are on."

Dave added: "My wife said, I'll shave my own head to support you. I said you do realise then we won't be able to go out and do anything? So please don't!"
