Ian Broudie came into The Chris Moyles Show this week and talked about everything from The Lightning Seeds' first hit, Pure, to their re-release of Three Lions.
Talking about their plans to drop another version of the England football anthem in time for the World Cup, Broudie said: "Well it was just we were chatting about it, because we were thinking, 'It's Christmas and it's going to be a World Cup."
"And the reason behind that I'm not mad on," he went on. "But it is a unique opportunity to be Chrismassy and a World Cup."
Asked if Frank Skinner and David Baddiel were set to be on the latest version, he replied: "Absolutely, they are the geniuses behind all those lyrics.
"But you know, when the Lionesses won and it was so lovely to see them and they ran into the press conference and sang Three Lions on the tables and dancing, that was the moment we thought, 'It would be really cool to do this.'"
